Sanjana Satapathy (She/her)
Sanjana Satapathy is a full time therapist at Pause for Perspective. Her work is guided by deep listening, curiosity, and care, and is grounded in the belief that healing begins in spaces where one feels genuinely heard.
She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, where she pursued electives like Couple and Family Therapy, and School Counseling.
Her counseling experience spans work in schools (with Teach For India), hospitals, individual counseling, and supporting survivors of violence through a domestic violence helpline, which has taught her to honor the knowledge clients already hold about their lives, and work with them to re-author their relationships with distress, desire, and identity.
Her therapeutic work often explores themes around autonomy and control, identity, interpersonal struggles, emotional regulation, self-worth, and family conflict. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative as well as deeply rooted in Person-Centered Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, with borrowings from Narrative Practices, DBT, and Mindfulness. She offers therapy in English, Hindi, and Odia.
Sanjana’s decision to become a therapist was rooted in a deep need to understand why people behave the way they do, and has evolved into a deep respect for the ways people continue to live, love, and hope in the face of pain. She hopes clients leave her sessions with a renewed sense of their own voice, agency, and strength.
Outside of therapy, Sanjana finds joy in reading, watching films, sharing food, and taking long walks. Stories, in all their forms, anchor and inspire her, and remind her that people are always more than what they’re going through.
