B N Gayathri (She/They)

Gayathri is a full time mental health practitioner at Pause for Perspective. They have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, English Literature and Economics followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling Skills. Post the Diploma, they finished their Fellowship in Embodied Social Justice in Mental Health from Pause for Perspective under the training and supervision of Dr. Aarathi Selvan (Founder of PFP). They are also currently doing a Diploma in Narrative Practices from Narrative Practices, India. They work in individual and group settings as a therapist, mentor, trainer and supervisor.

They believe that social justice needs to be centred in discourses of mental health and their work is informed by the same perspective. They also believe the human body to be always responding to the oppressive ways of the world and hold Narrative Practices and Mindfulness informed by Ambedkarite Buddhism central to their praxis in their personal and professional movement towards aliveness and liberation for all.

Their work is also informed by identities they hold in their navigating of the world and they’re moved by the same to gently hold an anti-caste, queer-trans affirmative, poly-affirmative, feminist, neurodivergent, disability justice stance to the work they do and enjoy themselves in the doing of this work that centres that.

When they’re not working, you’ll see them picking up a new book to read or trying to figure out the name of a new tree they’ve spotted or off to a movie alone.
