Sahithi Maddi (She/her)
Sahithi Maddi is a Therapist and Fellow at Pause for Perspective. She has done her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, Political Science and Public Administration, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Counseling Skills.
She has been working in the field for the past 4 years via her association with Non-Governmental Organizations based in the city of Hyderabad. Sahithi has worked with children from low-income backgrounds in training and conducting cultural activities for them. She has also worked in building an online mental health-based platform for those in need of therapeutic help. Her experience of working in different areas and interacting with mental health advocates from different walks of life helped her build a more nuanced understanding of mental health and how one’s experiences influence their well-being. She also has experience of working with schools to conduct mental health awareness workshops to facilitate children build language around understanding their emotions. Sahithi has interned with Pause for Perspective for a period of 4 months during which she primarily worked with women, young adults, and queer clients. During the course of her internship she has also learned to view her client’s stories via a social justice lens and usage of narrative techniques and would like to continue to do so.
